The Alhambra School District is committed to ensuring that every student receives a quality education; therefore, we hire only highly qualified and capable support staff.  We consider all support staff members–instructional assistants, clerical staff, transportation workers, custodians, and child nutrition workers–as educators supporting the teaching and learning process.  Support staff members who work in classrooms must meet the highly qualified guidelines as outlined by the Arizona Department of Education:
  • have an Associate's Degree or 60 semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or
  • meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through the passage of a formal state assessment such as Para Pro, ACT Workkeys, or Master Teacher's Para Educator Learning Network.
